Jill Orrock teaches within and directs the Bachelor of Social Work Program at Colorado Mesa University, where she provides a thorough educational experience as a teacher and ensures accreditation standards are met as program director. Her teaching covers topics such as ethical practice, macro-level intervention methods, social policy, and social work research methods. She engages students in these subjects by examining case examples, promoting discussion, and encouraging critical thinking.

Although her path has not followed a traditional academic trajectory, Orrock has worked as a direct practitioner since earning a Bachelor of Social Work in 2009. Her professional experience spans a variety of settings, including substance use, sexual assault recovery, youth and family houselessness, and medical social work. Within the medical field, she has served populations living with HIV/AIDS or lupus and worked in hospice, palliative care, primary care/chronic illness, and oncology social work.
