Chrissy Simmons has been teaching Early Childhood Education courses at Colorado Mesa University’s Montrose Campus since 2017. She holds a master’s degree in Elementary Education and has completed graduate studies in Educational Leadership and Leadership Development. Chrissy is passionate about preparing future educators with a strong foundation in teaching pedagogy, child development, brain and cognitive development, and behavior management. With over 15 years of experience in education and leadership, she is dedicated to helping students discover their strengths and grow into confident early childhood professionals.

In addition to her teaching role, Simmons also serves as the Lead IRIS Advisor at the Montrose Campus, supporting students as they navigate class planning, financial aid, and campus resources.

Outside the university, Simmons enjoys traveling, cooking, and paddle boarding with her dogs. She is grateful for her supportive husband and is especially proud of her son, who serves in the US Navy. Family remains at the heart of all she does.
